Guatemala – Day 1

We'll be painting here after breakfast.

We’ll be painting here after breakfast.

Arrived early in Guatemala City. I’m here with artist William Kalwick, Jr., and a small paint group. We are here on a paint-out.

The trip to Antigua was circunventing weekend traffic and the Lent procession. We took a roundabout route and arrived, over the hills, through beautiful mountain scenery.

A festive town square. I plan to paint here tomorrow.

All checked in and after a tasty lunch with fresh papaya juice, we set out to scout the areas were we will paint tomorrow. We visited a gallery,  did a little shopping, and now are preparing for dinner after a little freshening up.

The temperature is in the low 70’s, sunny with a couple of clouds here and there. Tomorrow should be a quieter day for plein are painting.
