The Show Continues

Notice: Due to demand, we will continue the Dry, Shaken & Stirred invitational through the end of January. This extension will allow more people to visit the exhibition of more than 25 art pieces in dry media.

The evening began with the arrival of the guest artists. Cathy Ward and her friend Gayle were the first to arrive. Cathy lives in Damon, Texas. Suzanne Lienhart, who came in from League City via Lake Charles where she attended a wedding, and David Pierce, from Houston, both joined me in an early toast with Savignon blanc. We were then joined by Elizabeth Cencini from Clear Lake.

The evening was an intimate opportunity to visit with the artists. Each shared stories about their work and experience as they described their approach and technique. Each guest raised the opportunity to answer questions and expand on details of the various pieces on exhibition.

I enjoyed the evening as this was the first invitational exhibition held at my new studio. I have known my guest artists for several years and although I see some of them on a regular basis, others I had not seen in a couple of years. This show offered the opportunity to come together, see our recent pieces and catch up on our art experiences. It was a gathering to enjoy and talk shop.

We thank our visitors for setting aside their holiday activities to join us in this conversation about dry media to shake and stir you. We invite anyone that is interested in learning about dry media to call and set up a private viewing through January 31, 2009. Studio information at: http://www.lilibethandre.com/news.htm
